Gryffindors born under this sign will also have very short fuses, and can be expected to fight regularly with other students, over ethical questions or over anything else that makes a good excuse. Since Mars is a planet that encourages war games and competition and bursts of hard physical activity, there may be many Quidditch players born under these aspects. A Gryffindor Aries is an open book; a truth potion would never be needed on one, because they are hopelessly honest and open. These wizards will display uncanny charisma and leadership ability, and will be among the most popular within their class.

Occupation: Hogwarts, Professor of History of Magic (and Order Member)

Bloodline: Pureblood
Heritage: Welsh

Personal History: Cadogan Ferguson was born to a prominent Welsh wizarding family, firmly rooted to Gryffindor and Hufflepuff loyalties, in the town of Holyhead on the north coast of Wales (home of the all-female Quidditch team, the Harpies). Prominent in this case didn't necessarily mean 'wealthy,' and his father and Gryffindor alumn Marcus Ferguson kept his family comfortable and happy, respected in his career as a healer in St. Mungo's. Cadogan's mother Dorothy Skimble, a kind-hearted Hufflepuff, left auror training on pregnancy leave and found being a mother was more fulfilling.
Cadogan grew up with eight siblings, the middle child, one a Squib, but still loved by the family. The dynamic of the Ferguson's was healthy and helped their children thrive and grow up to be happy and successful. Cadogan grew up with an intense interest in muggle culture, even once saying he'd run away and be a muggle for the rest of his life just because Celestina Warbeck didn't quite measure up to The BeeGees. Cadogan was quite the nerdy, odd child, finding more interest in the history of the muggle Roman empire than the latest standings of the Holyhead Harpies, his oldest brothers' (Quinn and Ioan) favourite team. He was a kind-hearted child, set for Hufflepuff.
Nevertheless, he was sorted into Gryffindor. Perhaps the Sorting Hat saw a strong brave and moral streak in the boy after entering Hogwarts. His outwardly kind nature helped him make lots of friends very quickly. His popularity rose quickly, but as a consequence, in the dangerous times he was facing in his terms at the school, the Slytherins learned to intensely dislike the handsome, kind, quiet boy. That quietness and peaceful understanding was soon to change.
In his fourth year, Cadogan joined a dueling club because his best friends teased him to sign up as well. One particularly nasty Slytherin he was up against bent the rules a bit and let a rope-severing charm go a bit haywire, hitting Cadogan in the chest. After a few weeks in the hospital wing and then the recovery period being taunted by the Snakes, he seemed to change. He wanted to make a change to the mistreatment, particularly being influenced by his highly anti-Snake Gryffindor comrades, in saying the Slytherin must have had a personal grudge against him. Cadogan thus was determined to be an Auror, especially in the midst of the war threatening to rage on, and rumours of Voldemort's powers rising. The kind boy became a bit prejudiced against Slytherin, becoming the typical Gryffindor. After all, he had heard of how powerful his mother was in auror training, and believed it was a fantastic career.
He passed his NEWTs and graduated high in his class, and entered the world just on the offset of the height of Voldemort's power. His connections and friendships helped him to join The Order of the Phoenix, and strive for auror training soon enough. Entering into training with him as well was an old Hogwarts sweetheart of his, Ravenclaw pureblood Dylis Brin. On his twenty-third birthday, Cadogan and Dylis married. Their years paid off and soon they were stationed in Hogsmeade together, meanwhile planning their lives and children and moving into a house back in Wales.
Only two years later, their plans were cut short. In a assignment to protect a highly muggle-populated area from an attack by the Dark Lord's forces, Dylis was murdered in the line of duty. Cadogan fought back, only resulting in being outnumbered and crucio-ed, waking up in St. Mungo's, treated by his very own father.
Positively devastated by the loss of his wife, and feeling as if he was a failure to not live up to his auror training in protecting her, Cadogan quit his auror career and sank into a time of despair and depression, three years to be exact, living back in Wales with his mother and father. He knew violent revenge would not solve anything, but wanted to make a difference as a whole. An old school mate recruited him into the Order of the Phoenix, knowing his Auror training would benefit the group as well. It gave him a new reason to find faith in himself, and protect others so they wouldn't face the sadness he had.
To get back on his feet, he repeatedly applied for the position of History of Magic Professor at his old haunting-grounds of Hogwarts, reading up carefully so he'd be able to make the cut. His seventh year in a row was faced with another disappointment, but more recently with the absence of Professor Atticus, Dumbledore wished him to take Binns' place. He gladly accepted, and jumped right in, happy to make a new life for himself.

Personality: Persistent is one thing that overwhelmingly stands out. Cadogan Alban Ferguson is persistent and stubborn perhaps to the point of incorrigible. He has become a mirror opposite of his childhood personality, a boy who would go along with anything just to make his friends happy. He is now very take-charge, strong-willed, and loves challenges that will stir him to action. He enjoys helping others, however his confidence and strength in knowing what he is doing will make a difference sets him apart from the past "Why aren't you in Hufflepuff, Cadogan?!" outlook. He loves to work hard for a cause he believes deeply in (such as trying to get students interested in the subject of History of Magic, or fighting against Voldemort). He is very energetic and radiantly happy when he is in a good mood, but can be extremely serious and down-right "No, I AM right, YOU are wrong" when he is challenged, or any of his ideas are, for that matter. He is easily spurred to action, a bit on the impulsive side, but this comes as a good advantage when he is needed. And when it isn't. . .well, he just looks jumpy and "Lemme' at 'em!" He loves to inspire action as well, wanting others to share the same "Carpe Diem" ideas that he has. Not wanting to admit weakness, he rarely speaks of or shows the pain of his wife's loss, even though it is a constant reminder in his daily life. Only his close friends and colleagues will know this, and though his heart is broken over her, however he knows she would have wanted him to press on and fight for justice. . .which is just what he does. However, in losing his wife, he is a very caring person to those closest to him, and regretting not having children, enjoys helping his students even out of academics.

Physical Description: Cadogan isn't exactly dashingly handsome, per se, more just manly and angular. His nose is a bit too sharp, his brow furrowed and wrinkled the slightest bit. His brown hair never seems to be in place, not that he tries it to be. His hazel eyes are usually narrowed inquisitively. His face is narrow and is one of extremes; it can be either ecstatically happy or dully bored. Usually, he keeps an unimpressed, slightly critical expression on his face. One interesting physical attribute is his relatively thin mouth, sometimes appearing as simply a line on his chin, always looking like he's pursing his lips. This can make him look slightly arrogant at times. Cadogan stands at about six foot 3 inches, a bit imposing. He's always been naturally fit, from practicing Quidditch in his free time, or just having that "Welsh quality" to him. He does appear strong and confident, standing solid and straight. His weight, though he hasn't checked in a VERY long time (physical appearance doesn't hold much value to him anymore) is around 210 pounds or so.
Preferred Body Model: Christian Bale

If this is your first UK character: Please give us a sample RP, at least one paragraph in length. N/A

Hobbies and talents - max of five: Has a keen interest in muggle culture, especially music; follows Quidditch religiously (never having played it as a student) and has his "fantasy Quidditch league" scores constantly updated on a board on his wall, speaking to students about their ideas as well; love of books, reading and writing; interest in archaeology and the past (naturally)
Weaknesses - for every hobby or talent, the character must have two weaknesses: Despite his love of Quidditch, he CANNOT play it, and has actually fallen off his broom on occasion; bad habit of playing favourites; wary of Slytherins and may bias them on this standing; stubborn and cannot admit failure, finds ways of deflecting attention to other things; a bit of a trick knee, limps and feels pain on occasion (from the crucio); prone to bouts of brooding and sadness at times, needing the help of others but not wanting to admit it; the slightest bit arrogant and Type-A personality, always thinking he is right no matter what.
Areas of Magical Expertise: Defense Against the Dark Arts, Transfiguration, History of Magic
Areas of Magical Weakness: Divination, Astronomy, Potions, Herbology
Broom: A nearly ANCIENT Comet 180, just for when Cadogan gets bored and wants to brush up on his Quidditch skills.
Wand: 11 inches, Rosewood and Ashwinder Ash.

Alignment: Fervently Anti-Voldemort, to the point that he's involved with The Order of the Phoenix.
